Day 1 | Arrive Bagdogra – Phuentsholing

Upon arrival at Bagdogra Airport, receive a warm welcome from your Bhutan Escapes Journeys executive before setting off on a scenic drive towards the Indo-Bhutan border, where your unforgettable Bhutan adventure begins.

After completing immigration formalities, enter the charming border town of Phuentsholing, Bhutan's principal gateway and an important commercial hub. Surrounded by lush foothills and characterized by traditional Bhutanese architecture, the town provides a gentle introduction to the kingdom.

Depending on your arrival time, visit the peaceful Zangto Pelri Lhakhang or enjoy a leisurely walk through the town.

Day 2 | Phuentsholing to Thimphu

Following breakfast, embark on a scenic drive through winding mountain roads, dense forests, cascading waterfalls, and picturesque valleys as you make your way to Bhutan's capital city.

Upon arrival in Thimphu, begin exploring some of the city's cultural landmarks, including the revered Memorial Chorten, where locals gather daily for prayer and reflection.

The remainder of the evening is free to explore the capital's vibrant streets, handicraft stores, and local cafés.

Day 3 | Thimphu Sightseeing – Transfer to Paro

After breakfast, discover the highlights of Bhutan's cultural capital.

Visit the magnificent Buddha Dordenma, one of the largest seated Buddha statues in the world, offering panoramic views of the valley below. Continue to the Traditional Arts School, where Bhutan's rich artistic traditions are preserved through generations of skilled craftsmanship.

Explore the impressive Tashichho Dzong, the seat of Bhutan's government and monastic body, and visit the Motithang Takin Preserve, home to Bhutan's unique national animal.

Later, drive to the picturesque Paro Valley. Upon arrival, visit the magnificent Rinpung Dzong and stroll across the traditional cantilever bridge spanning the Paro Chhu River.

Day 4 | Tiger's Nest Monastery & Paro Heritage

Today is dedicated to Bhutan's most iconic landmark — the legendary Tiger's Nest Monastery (Taktsang Monastery).

Perched dramatically on a cliff face nearly 900 meters above the valley floor, this sacred monastery is one of the most revered pilgrimage sites in the Himalayan world. The scenic hike passes through pine forests, fluttering prayer flags, and spectacular viewpoints before reaching the monastery complex.

Following the descent, visit the sacred Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan's oldest and most revered temples, dating back to the 7th century. The remainder of the day can be spent exploring Paro town or simply relaxing amidst the valley's tranquil surroundings.

Day 5 | Paro to Phuentsholing

After breakfast, begin your journey back towards Phuentsholing.

The scenic drive descends through forested mountains, picturesque valleys, and charming settlements, offering one final opportunity to admire Bhutan's pristine landscapes and traditional countryside.

Upon arrival, enjoy a relaxed evening in the border town before preparing for your onward journey.

Day 6 | Phuentsholing – Bagdogra Departure

After breakfast, complete departure formalities and proceed to Bagdogra Airport for your onward flight.
