Day 1 | Arrive Bagdogra – Phuentsholing

Upon arrival at Bagdogra Airport, receive a warm welcome from your Bhutan Escapes Journeys executive before setting off on a scenic drive towards the Indo-Bhutan border, where your unforgettable Bhutan adventure begins.

After completing immigration formalities, enter Bhutan through Phuentsholing, the kingdom's principal gateway town. Surrounded by lush foothills and characterized by traditional Bhutanese architecture, the town provides a wonderful introduction to the Land of Happiness.

Depending on your arrival time, visit the serene Zangto Pelri Lhakhang or enjoy a leisurely walk through the town.

Day 2 | Phuentsholing to Thimphu

After breakfast, embark on a scenic drive through forested mountains, winding valleys, waterfalls, and traditional settlements as you ascend towards Bhutan's capital city.

Upon arrival in Thimphu, visit the revered Memorial Chorten, where locals gather daily for prayer and reflection. The evening is free to explore local markets, handicraft shops, and cafés.

Day 3 | Exploring the Cultural Treasures of Thimphu

Spend the day discovering Bhutan's vibrant capital and its rich cultural heritage.

Visit the magnificent Buddha Dordenma, one of the largest seated Buddha statues in the world, overlooking the valley below. Continue to the Traditional Arts School, where Bhutan's artistic traditions are preserved through generations of skilled craftsmanship.

Explore the Folk Heritage Museum, visit the impressive Tashichho Dzong, and stop at the Motithang Takin Preserve, home to Bhutan's unique national animal.

Enjoy a relaxed evening in the capital.

Day 4 | Thimphu to Punakha via Dochula Pass

After breakfast, depart for the beautiful Punakha Valley via the breathtaking Dochula Pass (3,100 meters). Adorned with 108 memorial chortens, the pass offers spectacular Himalayan views on clear days.

Descending into the fertile Punakha Valley, visit the famous Chimi Lhakhang, affectionately known as the Temple of Fertility. Continue to the magnificent Punakha Dzong, one of Bhutan's most impressive and historically significant fortresses, beautifully situated at the confluence of the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers.

If time permits, enjoy a walk across the iconic Punakha Suspension Bridge, one of Bhutan's longest and most picturesque suspension bridges.

Day 5 | Punakha Valley Exploration – Transfer to Paro

Begin the day with a visit to the stunning Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten, reached via a scenic walk through terraced rice fields and rural countryside. Perched on a ridge above the valley, the temple offers breathtaking panoramic views of Punakha and the surrounding mountains.

Thereafter, drive towards the picturesque Paro Valley, passing once again through the spectacular landscapes of Dochula Pass.

Upon arrival in Paro, visit the magnificent Rinpung Dzong and stroll across the traditional cantilever bridge overlooking the Paro Chhu River. The remainder of the evening is free to explore the charming town or relax amidst the valley's peaceful surroundings.

Day 6 | Tiger's Nest Monastery Experience

Today's highlight is undoubtedly Bhutan's most iconic landmark — the legendary Tiger's Nest Monastery (Taktsang Monastery).

Perched dramatically on a cliff face nearly 900 meters above the valley floor, this sacred monastery is one of the most revered pilgrimage sites in the Buddhist world. The rewarding hike winds through fragrant pine forests, prayer-flag-lined trails, and spectacular viewpoints before reaching the monastery complex.

Following the descent, visit the sacred Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan's oldest and most revered temples. In the evening, guests may choose to unwind with a traditional Bhutanese hot stone bath, a relaxing and authentic wellness experience.

Day 7 | Paro to Phuentsholing

After breakfast, begin your return journey towards Phuentsholing.

Travel through scenic mountain roads, forested valleys, and traditional villages while enjoying the final views of Bhutan's spectacular landscapes. Upon arrival, enjoy a relaxed evening in the border town.

Day 8 | Phuentsholing – Bagdogra Departure

After breakfast, complete departure formalities and proceed to Bagdogra Airport for your onward journey.
